October 6, 2021 a thought for today, The power of the world always works in circles. Native American Lakota Proverb
We had a leak in the ceiling over the kitchen a while back. It took putting a hole in the ceiling to get it fixed. Yesterday Lowell was able to get over to repair the ceiling. We ordered a vent that would fit it perfectly so that we could get to that junction of pipes again if we had to. What I am getting at is how good it makes me feel to have him here even just to fix something for me.
One of my photo challenges for October 5 was “I love this color”. Blue has always been my favorite color although there are many others that I am dawn to. Anyway, the blue in this sky grabbed my attention yesterday.I have been tackling a lot of odds and ends today. A couple of minor updates on the bulletin for one. I have spent a good bit of time trying to figure out why my Adobe Bridge isn’t working. It is a very powerful tool that I use in my photo editing. I still haven’t found the problem but I will keep working on it as I have the time. It was time to clear the refrigerator again and to load the dish washer so I got that out of the way. The stove under the gas grills needed cleaned, I am trying the Dawn Powerwash on that. It says to let it set for a few minutes so that is what is going on now. Next on the agenda will be making sun tea. After that some Photoshop work.
The other photo theme for yesterday was “abstract in black and white”. I have many abstract images in color that I have generated from photos. I chose one of those digital images and changed it to black and white for this assignment.I have some other little chores to get done before I get ready for choir practice tonight.
The word for today is found. True love cannot be found where it does not exist, nor can it be denied where it does. Torquato Tasso. Lost time is never found again, Benjamin Franklin. Wisdom is found only in truth, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The depth lies in the valleys where we seek her, and not upon the mountain-tops where she is found, Edgar Allan Poe. Where the wound had been given, there must the cure be found, if any where, Jane Austen. Pure truth, like pure gold, has been found unfit for circulation because men have discovered that it is far more convenient to adulterate the truth than to refine themselves, Charles Caleb Colton. Diamonds are to be found only in the darkness of the earth, and truth in the darkness of the mind, Victor Hugo. The fishermen know that the sea is dangerous and the storm terrible, but they have never found these dangers sufficient reason for remaining ashore. Vincent Van Gogh. The greatest pleasure I know is to do a good action by stealth and have it found out by accident. Charles Lamb. The bee collects honey from flowers in such a way as to do the least damage or destruction to them, and he leaves them whole, undamaged and fresh, just as he found them. Saint Francis de Sales. A friend is long sought, hardly found, and with difficulty kept. St. Jerome
Today’s photo theme is “I walked here”. This is another of the many images I create at the nearby local city park. Here a bit of story about a young artists adventure. She is 17 years old trying to make winter a little brighter. There was a street festival in Grandview Heights on September 25 called the Grandview Hop. This young artist was selected, the youngest to be “commissioned”, to create artwork for this event. She with the help of another young artist decided to use the blade of a city snow plow as her canvas. According to the article it is hoped that this design on the snowplow will raise awareness for recycling due to the theme this young artist chose. There is a depiction of the earth on the plow with stars around it. The starts were put on by young children with a spray can or rubber stars as stamps. The group running this activity said that the mission is to encourage interactive art making it accessible to everyone. The young artist also enjoys acrylic and chalk paintings along with creating “elaborate dioramas”. She has alto been commissioned to create a mural at a home in Grandview.
Its looks like it will be hamburgers and pasta for dinner tonight.
