November 4, 2022 a thought for today, Sense does not come before age. Irish Proverb

An upload for yesterday was “a store front”. There is a shopping center near my home that has several vacant stores. This is one of them. Hopefully it will be discovered and occupied by something exciting and interesting soon.

This was going to be a nice laid back worry free day. It started out with a long phone call with a friend. That was like a detour to my focus and plan for the day. On the other hand, it was nice connecting and “bonding” with her. And making another memory. Then I tried adding some software to the laptop I am borrowing and playing with. Wouldn’t you know.....I ran into one of the stumbling blocks with new technology? So I put it aside to get some work done.

Yesterday was printing and laundry day so I was really tired and then had a meeting last night so I didn’t get the frig cleaned out. I put that off until today.

The second upload for yesterday was shot on the same day. The fog in my area was dense until late morning. I was out and about early so I wanted to get some photos for my uploads before I went home so on a whim I shot this one hoping it would fit the “assignment” of “framed”. My thought of the “framed” feature was the cross signal. The fog seemed to give the whole scene a secret and mystic look and feel.

When my “old” car I use to deliberately go out photo hunting now and then. Of course I am always on the look out for photos any time I am out but not to make a trip for that purpose only. Today I asked Sweet Pea if she would like to go with me on an outing....she said yes in her usual manner of running back and forth from door to door so off we went.

I took a few shots and then was ready to shoot one I really took a liking to.....the camera “spoke to me” and said “battery exhausted”. So....my back up phone camera came to the rescue.

When I got back from that trip is when I did the “dirty deed” of cleaning out left overs in the frig.

Once I am at the end of this letter I will be getting on line to do the “curb side grocery order”.

An upload for today was “a for sale sign”. Sweet Pea was with me for this shot. It was taken in the same area as one of the images yesterday. I had several house for sale signs but they were so common....I wanted something different.

The word for today power.  We all have our own life to pursue, our own kind of dream to be weaving, and we all have the power to make wishes come true, as long as we keep believing. Louisa May Alcott. The ultimate value of life depends upon awareness and the power of contemplation rather than upon mere survival. Aristotle., With an eye made quiet by the power of harmony, and the deep power of joy, we see into the life of things. William Wordsworth. And so it is, that both the Devil and the angelic Spirit present us with objects of desire to awaken our power of choice. Rumi.  I know the power obedience has of making things easy which seem impossible. Saint Teresa of Avila. Oh while I live, to be the ruler of life, not a slave, to meet life as a powerful conqueror, and nothing exterior to me will ever take command of me. Walt Whitman.  All the forces in the world are not so powerful as an idea whose time has come. Victor Hugo. Chance is always powerful. Let your hook always be cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be fish. Ovid. Thaw with her gentle persuasion is more powerful than Thor with his hammer. The one melts, the other breaks into pieces. Henry David Thoreau. There is no witness so terrible and no accuser so powerful as conscience which dwells within us. Sophocles.

The other shot for today is “high angle”. I took this one from the second story of my house looking out over the neighborhood. What I like about it is the shapes, angles and colors (not the wires so much).

Here is a story about another historic structure in Ohio. This one is in Coshocton, Ohio about an hour and a half from Columbus. There is a place called the “Old Stone Fort”. According to the article is it “shrouded in mystery”. It is said that maybe it is the oldest structure in the Midwest, the oldest building in the state of Ohio. It stands off to the side of a county road. The story says it may have been a part of a farm centuries ago. In putting together it’s history little is known or recorded of its origins. It is believed that this stone structure was probably built in 1679 “nearly 100 years prior to the American Revolution”. As for who built and/or owned it way back then is a mystery. At some point in time there was a metal plaque posted that states that it is believed to have been built by “d’Iberville, , LaSalle’s successor who built French forts in the Mississippi Valley from 1679- 1689".....maybe “to guard against the English in the battle of the fur trades”. Another theory is an Irish fur trader built the fort in the 1700's. And yet another story is it was built by a farmer but his family “debunked that theory”. The building is not very big and not much to see but there is a “feel” of history and age and stories untold. To visit this tiny reminder of the past from Coshocton go east on US 36 to US 751, turn right on 751 then take the first road to the left, County Road 254 which runs along the Tuscarawas River. Follow 254 around a sharp curve to the right and continue roughly ¼ of a mile” to the old, old brick “shack” on the side of the road.

Pizza night has rolled around again.”
