April 7, 2023 a thought for today, When friendship goes with love it must play the second fiddle. German Proverb
One upload for yesterday was titles “historic”. This is called Camp Chase. It is the cemetery portion of Camp Chase the historic confederate camp in Columbus Ohio.Doing the printing yesterday was a bit unusual. We had a food delivery that I had forgotten about but beyond that we had a large group meeting in the building at the same time. There was a lot of activity. We have a person taking it upon himself to pronounce orders for this thing or that. He is not a member but seems to think it falls upon him to direct any activity he comes upon whether asked for ideas or not. I guess I should remember that God has given us all talents.
With time specific tasks out of the way today is going to be one of the times I have to enjoy a relaxed kind of way.
A second upload for yesterday was titled “artificial”. This palm tree has followed my sister from her home to ours.I got a few necessary calls and texts out of the way earlier. Then Sweet Pea and I went out to look for photo opportunities. We found a couple of good ones at the park but most likely not for the photo of the day for today. I have some ideas for those though. I still need to tend to the indoor house plant garden to finish the agenda for the day.
I think my body has become accustomed to the cold temperatures of the winter months, even though this has been a relatively comfortable winter for Ohio. It was 45 degrees when Sweet Pea and I went out an hour or so ago but I still needed a little extra clothing. We are predicted to have seventy degree temps for most of next week.
I have a tree in my back yard that I really like. It is called a Japanese Pagoda tree. It shades nearly the whole back yard. BUT it has some very messy droppings in the autumn. The pods are like glue when they are stepped on. My kitchen floor becomes a real tough chore to clean. I have decided to have it cut down. I’ll have to find some thing more suitable to replace it. Trees take so long to mature. I will just have to enjoy it in “it’s youth” before the wonderful shade it will make some day.
The first upload for today is “something good”. What better than an ice cream Sunday. The word today is fool. Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something, Plato. Fools rush in where angels fear to tread, Alexander Pope. The greatest fool may ask more than the wisest man can answer, Charles Caleb Colton. There is a foolish corner in the brain of the wisest man, Aristotle. Wise men learn more from fools than fools from the wise. Cato the Elder. Let a fool hold his tongue and he will pass for a sage, Ovid. Sometimes a fool has talent, but never judgment, Francois de la Rochefoucauld. A learned fool is more a fool than an ignorant fool. Moliere. The heart is forever making the head its fool, Francois de la Rochefoucauld. There is only a finger's difference between a wise man and a fool. Diogenes. A fool is wise in his eyes. King Solomon. In seeking wisdom thou art wise; in imagining that thou hast attained it - thou art a fool. Philip Stanhope, 4th Earl of Chesterfield. Any man is liable to err, only a fool persists in error. Marcus Tullius Cicero.
The second upload today is “music”. I had my choir folder and the hymnal handy for this photo.Another historic building may be demolished, maybe to make space for parking?. There are some warehouses in Columbus that have been abandoned and/or forgotten when it comes to maintenance. According to the article there is an “emergency hazard order” for a pair of connected buildings at the corner of Neilston and Naghten Streets. One is four stories in height, the other six stories and are over “a century old”. The article went on to explain that the term “emergency order” means the buildings have to be demolished or repaired. The diagnosis for the structural status was determined by an independent structural engineer. Earlier in the year there had been some bricks falling from a parapet on the six story building. Apparently there had been a permit before to demolish the buildings. One of the buildings was built as an ice house in the 1800s. Later it was used by two different corporations. Some people would like to see the buildings rehabilitated and revitalized. I’m not a business-mined person but would, perhaps naively, hope they could at least be modernized and used for housing. They are beautiful structures of historic architectural facades.
