December 1, 2023 a thought for today, He conquers who endures. Italian Proverb

The first upload for yesterday was “in my backyard”. This is one view of it. It looks much better in the spring and summer. The bright blue sky in the background adds some sparkle to the lack of flowers.

The second upload for yesterday was “work in progress.” Lately there has been
some major work going on in the park. But today they were taking a rest, I guess. However, I was able to capture some grass mowing.

My third upload for yesterday was “in a row”. I took several shots for this image. I decided on this one while I was in the darkroom (Photoshop).

Life today. I had a bit of a different start. I got a call asking if I could be at the church right away to let some visitors in, no problem. I am only about ten minutes from the church. Apparently the person who is usually there this early couldn’t get there in time. I was only there for about ten or fifteen minutes.

Back home....I finished my virtual check list of headlines, facebook, and emails that I make every morning. It was time then to get started on the new month of photos, uploading new calendars to keep track of them and preparing the space for them for the month. After that I got started on my letter to my miliary families. I was able to squeeze a few minutes in to add a couple more Christmas decorations to other parts of the house. I was also able to print the last of the calendars and get them ready for binding.

To finish my Christmas “shopping” I want to order some small items for my great grand children. I think they will all be home during the holidays. I order Amazon gift cards each year but since they may be here this year I want to also have some little thing on hand for them.

The first upload for this first day of the new month is “lakes or ponds”. I didn’t want to drive too far so I decided to use the pond at the park down the street for this image.

I took a break from computer to work in the kitchen clearing out the sink and the frig. When I reread what I have written so far I see that I have been multitasking again, seems to be a regular with me.

Sweet Pea and I went out for one of the photos I needed and stopped for our brunch.

It’s not to cold out but raining. It’s coming to the moody time of year. The holidays make things more livable in the early months.

The second photo upload for today is “silent night”. I took this one some time ago. I meant to take one last night before I went to bed but....I forgot.

The word for today is inspirational. Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree, Martin Luther.  Where there is ruin, there is hope for a treasure, Rumi.  No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another, Charles Dickens.   Happiness resides not in possessions, and not in gold, happiness dwells in the soul. Democritus.  We come spinning out of nothingness, scattering stars like dust, Rumi.  Health is the greatest possession. Contentment is the greatest treasure. Confidence is the greatest friend, Lao Tzu.  Energy and persistence conquers all things, Benjamin Franklin.  Thinking: the talking of the soul with itself, Plato. Love and desire are the spirit's wings to great deeds, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.  Neither worse then or better is a thing made by being praised, Marcus Aurelius.  Happiness resides not in possessions, and not in gold, happiness dwells in the soul, Democritus.  Plant thy foot firmly in the prints which His foot has made before thee, Joseph Barber Lightfoot.  The deeds you do may be the only sermon some persons will hear today, St. Francis of Assisi.  Tears are often the telescope by which men see far into heaven, Henry Ward Beecher. When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be, Lao Tzu.

The third upload for today is “cheers”. I wasn’t sure I had any cocktail glasses in the cupboard, after

some searching I found one. I decided to add a filter to this image hoping to give it a bit of a  “mood”.

The story. I like to find and share stories about Columbus. We are a great city and great state. I think it’s fun to learn about some of its history. This story is about “Rush Creek Village's Architectural Legacy.” As the article state central Ohio has many historic neighborhoods with “unique architectural identities”, German Village and Victorian Village with European architecture. The neighborhood in this piece is “modern American.”  What led to the author looking more into its history was that the designer was a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. His, Mr. Wright’s, designs are “rooted in the idea of “organic architecture," a style known for its use of horizontal lines, open floor plans, and natural material.” Rush Creek Village was designed by a separate artist from the designer of the principal house in the article. As with many major attempts there were some problems as work began. Finding the land for a “dream home” was one of the problems. From what I read in the article “many banks (were) reluctant to issue loans for such unorthodox designs.” But things progressed, the house was built along with many others to the 51 “Wright-style homes today.” “The neighborhood was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003."

Hey!!! it’s here again......pizza night!
