February 29, 2024 a thought for today, Love without return is like a question without an answer. German Proverb
An upload for yesterday was “something Photoshopped.. however no AI”. I used a maintenance sign and used a filter in Photoshop to add a dark vignette.
Another upload for yesterday was “hands”. I caught this phot op as I was picking up brunch at McDonalds.
Life today. Another Thursday done and done. The printing is done, on both Sunday’s and the special bulletin. Diana came in about the time I was finishing. I had sent the last of the special bulletin to the printer when we left to go to the sanctuary to work on with the camera. When I got back to the office the printer was still printing. It turned out an over amount of copy that we needed. So I brought them home to finish folding and putting the insert in.
Diana and I were still not able to get the camera to save the streaming to a memory card. I think we will have to call support a Panasonic Digital Camera. It is much different than any of my Sonys especially using the movie feature.
My first upload for today is “my name”. I have inherited the name of “Mrs. Grandma”. So I have taken the opportunity to share this sweat shirt that they gave me for Christmas.I had to pick up meds for Sweet Pea and some of my own. So I had two stops to make before I came home.
I got a late start on my other work here at home so I will be having a late day.
Now I need to finish the special bulletin as well as the annual report. I want to print the annual report next Thursday.
Another upload for today is “ICM...in camera or Photographed”. I used a photo of trees in the park and use the motion blur Photoshop filter to show the movement. (ICM in camera motion). The word for today is appear. We get so much in the habit of wearing disguises before others that we finally appear disguised before ourselves. Francois de la Rochefoucauld. Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak. Sun Tzu. When the student is ready the teacher will appear. Laozi. The way to gain a good reputation is to endeavor to be what you desire to appear. Socrates. If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, infinite. William Blake. Our real blessings often appear to us in the shape of pains, losses and disappointments; but let us have patience and we soon shall see them in their proper figures. Joseph Addison. The more you meditate on the laws of Moses, the more striking and brighter does their wisdom appear. John Quincy Adams. Cheerfulness, it would appear, is a matter which depends fully as much on the state of things within, as on the state of things without and around us. Charlotte Bronte. For an object under the eye will appear very different from the same object placed above it; in an in closed space, very different from the same in an open space. Vitruvius. But such is the irresistible nature of truth, that all it asks, and all it wants is the liberty of appearing. Thomas Paine.
This last upload was a “photographers choice”. It is from my archives, sort of pointing my finger at the files and choosing this one. I titled it “sweet dreams”.
The article. It looks like Columbus will be growing some more. A new two-mile bike and pedestrian trail could loop through downtown Columbus as soon as 2028. There is a “Two-Mile Bike and Pedestrian Loop Planned for Downtown” some are calling it a Capital Line trail. It will be at Gay, Rich and Fourth streets then across the river leading to the Scioto Peninsula. There will be “dedicated bike lanes and wider sidewalks with outdoor furniture, vendors, and lots of trees, shrubs and flowers”. It is planned that “eventually connect up with other bike lanes or paths to reach into the neighborhoods surrounding Downtown”. The plan is for there to be a series of spurs that will connect the “two-mile loop to the Near East Side, German Village, Franklinton and other areas”. Earlier there was a plan to develop more of the downtown and surrounding areas such as the Scioto Peninsula and a Topiary Park Crossing apartment complex. The people involved in the planning believe that Gay Street is the “best street Downtown” it is not a great pedestrian area. There is a project in Indianapolis that is “geared toward recreational users, other cities – especially those in Europe – tend to build bike infrastructure to serve as a key part of their transportation network”. They are hoping ours will be better that those in Atlanta, Miami, Denver and Indy. Apparently one of two streets in Columbus was the inspiration for the project, East Gay Street with the Museum of Art and Columbus College of Art and Design. Rich Street also Fourth and Rich Streets play an important part in the plan. One of the planners sees it as “an experience that transforms locals into tourists.”
I thing it will be soup and Hot Pockets deli cheese sandwich.
