December 10, 2022 a thought for today,  Listen to all, plucking a feather from every passing goose, but, follow no one absolutely. Chinese Proverb

An upload for yesterday was called “small”. This was one of my brand new great grand babies.

I kind of got my comeuppance of sorts. Sweet Pea has become one of the three of us who pick up the curb side groceries of late. Today she decided she wanted the front seat. Bob was the driver, I was the front seat rider. She and I couldn’t both sit on the single seat comfortably (and legally). So, once we were safely parked, I took the back seat. She seemed perfectly happy about that and I didn’t mind at all. I got a first hand experience of riding in the back seat of my own car.

Another upload for yesterday was “peaceful”. These are two more of my great grand babies.

The photos today, at least one of them, was a catch as catch can kind of thing. It was an ‘out and about’ type of image. So I was shooting out the window as Bob stopped at lights for traffic and waiting for the groceries. It was fun and interesting. The rest of the photos for today were ‘staged’.

After putting up the groceries, I got back to the standard “fare” for Saturdays computer experiences and small clean ups around the house here and there.

One of the uploads for today is “out and about”, as I noted above. I shot several for this upload and ended picking this one to enter.

The word of the day today is touch. Life would be no better than candlelight tinsel and daylight rubbish if our spirits were not touched by what has been. George Eliot.  One touch of nature makes the whole world kin. William Shakespeare.  The heart has reasons that reason does not understand. Jacques-Benigne Bossuet. Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back. Those who wish to sing always find a song. Plato.  I please myself with the graces of the winter scenery, and believe that we are as much touched by it as by the genial influences of summer, Ralph Waldo Emerson.  For the Lord touched all parts of creation, and freed and undeceived them all from every deceit, Athanasius of Alexandria. Our purpose here on earth: to manifest the very nature of our spirit, which is touched by the spirit of God, Rumi. We steal if we touch tomorrow. It is God's. Henry Ward Beecher.  You transform all those who are touched by You, Rumi.  In the man whose childhood has known caresses and kindness, there is always a fiber of memory that can be touched to gentle issues, George Eliot.

Another upload for today is “cookies”. I had these available from our dessert last night.

I think from what I was reading in this article the work area sights may be changing from many years in the past and what many of us are use to experiencing. Many parking lots are nearly empty. The article started by mentioning that since the pandemic not all workers are “100%” back and that “half empty parking lots are a suburban norm in America (a quick trip to any Walmart will confirm that you have your pick of over 50% of the parking spaces at any given moment)”.The downtown lots seem to be full from 9-5 during the work week. However, it does seem that “white-collar” office jobs are the easiest to shift to remote work, and even if those workers have dedicated parking spots.....still rather stay home”. Even students at Columbus State and Franklin University have shifted to taking more online classes which take up less parking space too. Many workers have shifted to “hybrid” style coming to the office just one or two days a week.  So the article is saying that the empty parking lots could be used for something better. Using the empty spaces for something more taxable would also man “an increase in tax revenue for the city and a better fiscal balance”. Another thing to consider is that activity in the Short North on a summer night will see full parking lots and garages, also in the Arena District.  So these kinds of “Hot and cold spots for parking demands will continue to be something to plan around”. The article continued with “the further you are from High Street, the emptier the lot gets.....Some privately owned parking lots are for one type of user only, be it an enrolled college student at Columbus State or an office worker at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce”. Some people visiting restaurants and entertainment spaces don’t mind parking on the street at meters. All of this offers further thought for use of the spaces that are left empty or nearly empty. Hotels and Condominiums offer parking spaces to their clients so those wouldn’t have to be included in plans for “empty spaces”. So a final mention in the article is “Conversations with every surface parking lot owner could begin today to find out which ones are most interested in selling their land, redeveloping their lots, or improving the environment for the future”.

This is one of the days of the month I have a third upload. It was titled “flour power”.

This is left over night for dinner....I have changed our weekly menu a little.....Monday a fully cooked from scratch hot meal, Tuesday , Wednesday,  Thursday air fried meals. Friday and Sunday take out and Saturday left overs. We’ll see how that works. Tonight, bean soup from the freezer, made a week ago.
