November 7, 2024 a thought for today,  A man's life is a circle from childhood to childhood, and thus it is in everything where the power moves. Native American Lakota Proverb

I started the day on the 6th with the first upload of “pet”. Here is Sweet Pea again. She didn’t notice the camera this time so I got a pretty good capture.

The next upload for yesterday was “street photograph”. This is rather typical of
many city streets.

The last challenge for yesterday was “a brick wall”. I found some “block” walls or imitation brick design in my archives that were promising but the wording for the image was “brick” so I chose this one that.

Life today. Today was delivery day from MidOhio for our food pantry so there were several people at the church to help put it in the pantry when I was there to print the bulletin. It took about twenty minutes for the computer to boot up. Once it was up the bulletin was all printed and folded in about another twenty minutes.

As I was on my way to church, I was on the look out for todays photo. I got one on way there, one at church and one on the way home.

Brian is in the neighborhood working on my neighbors lawn and stopped by to see if I had anything for him. I told him we could get to the lawn and leaves. It looks like he may be busy on the other one for quite a bit so it may be tomorrow.

My first photo a day upload is “wildlife”. Finding wildlife in the city is on the challenging side, at least for me it is. It’s always easy to find squirrels especially in this season.

I took time to get the laundry started. The mint plants also needed a little attention. After I get all the uploads done I plan to get back to some “back burner” things. There is always a list of that kind on my post it notes and reminder app on the cell phone.

We are having another awesome autumn day. It started out cool now.  The sun is bright. Although one of my temperature gauges says it is only 58 degrees. I guess that’s not so bad for November.

I have the estimate done on my fender bender but haven’t heard back from the insurance company yet.

The next challenge is “trees”. I used this subject as a series recently. Here is another club asking for this subject. The trees here have or are losing most of their leaves now.

The word today is order. Inferiors revolt in order that they may be equal, and equals that they may be superior. Such is the state of mind which creates revolutions. Aristotle.  We live in this world in order always to learn industriously and to enlighten each other by means of discussion and to strive vigorously to promote the progress of science and the fine arts. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.  Order is heaven's first law. Alexander Pope.  Read in order to live. Gustave Flaubert.   I am a poor man and of little worth, who is laboring in that art that God has given me in order to extend my life as long as possible. Michelangelo.  A party of order or stability, and a party of progress or reform, are both necessary elements of a healthy state of political life. John Stuart Mill.  Order is manifestly maintained in the universe... governed by the sovereign will of God. James Prescott Joule.  Confusion heard his voice, and wild uproar Stood ruled, stood vast infinitude confined; Till at his second bidding darkness fled, Light shone, and order from disorder sprung. John Milton.  Learn what is true in order to do what is right. Thomas Huxley.  This is the spirit of the Order, indeed the true spirit of Mercy flowing on us. Catherine McAuley.   Action and faith enslave thought, both of them in order not be troubled or inconvenienced by reflection, criticism, and doubt. Henri Frederic Amiel.

My last upload for today is “water in motion”. I have used the fountain at the park near by many time so I was looking for something else. I would like to have found a water fall some where close by but couldn’t think of any off hand so I used the water fountain at church.

Article: This is an article talking about something we may need to be aware for future reference or just give pause for thought. “Microplastics promote cloud formation, with likely effects on weather and climate”. It begins by explaining how clouds are formed when water vapor, “an invisible gas in the atmosphere – sticks to tiny floating particles...... and turns into liquid water droplets or ice crystals”. A recent study show “that microplastic particles can have the same effects, producing ice crystals”. Therefore, it “suggests that microplastics in the air may affect weather and climate by producing clouds in conditions where they would not form otherwise”. Microplastics are so small that they can “be easily transported in the air”. The article said that  “most precipitation typically starts as ice particles”.  “For freezing to occur at warmer temperatures, some kind of material that won’t dissolve in water needs to be present in the droplet”. Microplastics “could cause ice crystals to form, potentially increasing rain or snowfall”. Do to as “shifting ratio” of compounds in the clouds “if microplastics increase the presence of ice particles in clouds compared with liquid water droplets, this shifting ratio could change clouds’ effect on Earth’s energy balance.” The article further informed that since plastic fragments come in many sizes and compositions there are plans for future research. Plans are to also “work with plastics that contain additives, such as plasticizers and colorants, as well as with smaller plastic particles” to determine if these may contribute to other effects.

It’s going to be meat loaf and baked potato for dinner.
