April 10, 2025 a thought for today, We will be known forever by the tracks we leave. Native American Dakota Proverb
One of the uploads for yesterday was another of the “glimmer micro moment”. This is one of my older images but is was a “glimmer and micro moment”. This was another of my best furry friends. Her name was sugar. She was with me for about twelve years and was here to greet Sweet Pea when she came to live with us.
Life today. Nearing the end of a week. Thursdays are on the busy side for me with the printing and the laundry which means going up and down steps more than most days.
There was no one in the church this morning while I was there for the printing. One of the AA groups use to be there everyday including Thursday but they have another meeting place now. They come over to help out when we need it or if they need extra space for the day. Anyway, it was totally quiet. As I was leaving Patti pulled. in the parking lot so we had a few seconds to chat
After I dropped off the mail I went looking for the photos for today. It also meant a stop for a sausage on a biscuit before I headed for home.
The first upload for today is one of this months “glimmer micro moment”. This is a boot scrapper by the steps to my front porch. It came from a collections of antiques or near antiques that my sister likes to keep.I’m sure I mentioned the “new” printer and my adventure in setting it up. Well, the ink I ordered was on the porch as I was leaving this morning. I stopped half way down the drive to rescue it from any porch pirates who might be in the area. After I got home, I put the new cartridges in and ran a test page.....perfect!
I started the laundry. When I came up from the basement I saw that I had forgotten a pillow cover so, back down the steps to put it in the washer....I couldn’t open the washer door because is “locks” while it is running. So, back up the steps and washed the cover in the sink by hand. I was able to put it in the dryer with when it was time to put the washer load in.
The next upload today is “stairs”. While I was out and about “scouting” for photos I took several shots of stair steps that caught my attention. I had meant to take some at the two areas where we have set of steps in the church....but I had other things on my mind until I was on my way home. The weather has pretty much settled. At least the rain has let up to a few minutes a couple of times here and there. The temperatures have dropped to close to freezing at night but it seems to be trying to show us some typical temperature and sunny skies soon.
Rebecca is picking Sweet Pea up for a grooming in a few minutes.
The next image challenge is “outdoors”. Wow, what a wide group of imageswe can get with this one. I chose the park near my house for this one. For quite a while they had the parking lot at this side of the park closed. I decided to drive by today to see if the barriers were still up. Happily the barriers were down and I could get that view of the park.
The word is weak. When a thought is too weak to be expressed simply, it should be rejected. Luc de Clapiers. However weak we are, however poor, however little our faith, or however small our grace may be, our names are still written on His heart; nor shall we lose our share in Jesus' love. Charles Spurgeon. Fortune is the rod of the weak, and the staff of the brave. James Russell Lowell. The weak have remedies, the wise have joys; superior wisdom is superior bliss. Edward Young. Idleness is only the refuge of weak minds. Philip Stanhope, 4th Earl of Chesterfield. There is a power in public opinion in this country - and I thank God for it: for it is the most honest and best of all powers - which will not tolerate an incompetent or unworthy man to hold in his weak or wicked hands the lives and fortunes of his fellow-citizens. Martin Van Buren. Weak eyes are fondest of glittering objects. Thomas Carlyle. In a just cause the weak will beat the strong. Sophocles. The little people must be sacred to the big ones, and it is from the rights of the weak that the duty of the strong is comprised. Victor Hugo. As your faith is, such your hope will be. Hope is never ill when faith is well, nor strong if faith be weak. John Bunyan. Strong and bitter words indicate a weak cause. Victor Hugo. You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength. Marcus Aurelius. Crying does not indicate that you are weak. Since birth, it has always been a sign that you are alive. Charlotte Bronte. What is the history of mighty kingdoms and nations, but a detail of the ravages and cruelties of the powerful over the weak? Abigail Adams.
This last image for today is one from my photo group that only has four photo a day uploads a month. This one is “abstract in nature”. I thought these fallen branches were rather abstract in nature.Article: Just a short time ago there was a unique development in one of the metro parks, I was canopy walk at Blacklick Woods. This story seems to be about another metro park in the area with some new and unique development. The title: This Inclusive Metro Parks Playground Welcomes Everyone, And It’s Pretty Amazing”. The reasons that this has become news worthy is “because this playground was designed specifically to welcome kids of all abilities”. It has designs to make it easier for everyone even those with various disabilities. It is not just swings and slides it is “ramps for mobility access, communication boards to help kiddos express themselves, musical instruments” and so much more. It’s totally fenced in for safety purposes. There are picnic tables and shaded spaces. It is called the Inclusive Playground.
I have some navy bean soup in the freezer from the last time I made it, that will be dinner tonight.
Joy storage
