Photos in my life yesterday
To begin the photo challenge uploads this one was titled “my shoes today”. They are more like slippers. They are what I mostly wear around the house.
what I had shot and prepared that I wanted to share. This is it. It is a rose from a memorial for a good friend. This one was fading after a few days and I want to share it before it was gone. I used one like it earlier. This is different one from the same bouquet and had a filter added.
Life today. So far the new year has started out with excitements some a little fighting but ultimately ok. On another level I found a good thing that may come about. Someone I know of the Christian faith may make an appearance at my church to give a message with a feeling that in knowing his background I believe would be unanimously will received. Other than that there are 359 day left clear and clean waiting for what every is already in store for us to comprehend and accept with devotion.
The cleaning lady was here today. The house is back to cozy and fresh. The bulletin is done and ready to print tomorrow morning. My photos of the day are set to upload. I may take a break shortly to make some baked apples.
I am using a new way, new to me, of cooking fish and chicken, poached in milk and another liquid, in my case chicken broth with seasonings. I also have found a different way of making dumplings. I have always made them with an egg and flour. I see now there are other methods minus the egg.
Now I have time to start the terrarium, plans for updating my four window/senior gardens, and my “silent” (for now) dream.
In my mind I will be thinking and praying to the One who always listens about my son-in-laws surgery tomorrow.
The word is product. One cannot fix one's eyes on the commonest natural production without finding food for a rambling fancy. Jane Austen. The moral virtues, then, are produced in us neither by nature nor against nature. Nature, indeed, prepares in us the ground for their reception, but their complete formation is the product of habit. Aristotle. Whenever I hear people talking about "liberal ideas," I am always astounded that men should love to fool themselves with empty sounds. An idea should never be liberal; it must be vigorous, positive, and without loose ends so that it may fulfill its divine mission and be productive. The proper place for liberality is in the realm of the emotions. Wolfgang von Goethe. The materials of wealth are in the earth, in the seas, and in their natural and unaided productions. Daniel Webster. We are too much accustomed to attribute to a single cause that which is the product of several, and the majority of our controversies come from that. Marcus Aurelius. Our character is not so much the product of race and heredity as of those circumstances by which nature forms our habits, by which we are nurtured and live. Marcus Tullius Cicero. Everything is the product of one universal creative effort. There is nothing dead in Nature. Everything is organic and living, and therefore the whole world appears to be a living organism. Lucius Annaeus Seneca. The moral virtues, then, are produced in us neither by nature nor against nature. Nature, indeed, prepares in us the ground for their reception, but their complete formation is the product of habit. Aristotle. Every production of genius must be the production of enthusiasm. Benjamin Disraeli. It strikes everyone in beginning to form an acquaintance with the treasures of Indian literature that a land so rich in intellectual products and those of the profoundest order of thought. Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel.
Article summary. I’m feeling in the pet mood today. My kitten has a long way to go to be a “senior”. But before her I had one of my best furry housemates who was feeling her seventeen years. I tearfully did everything I knew how to make her comfortable until I had to make the best decision for her. Maybe in the article I will recognize something more I could have done and to use for any other of my best furry friends that a can. As a bonus there may be hints here that would apply to we humans aslo. The article title is Is your dog or cat getting old? These simple gestures could help them live longer and happier lives. Sara Hoummady, DMV, PhD, Associate professor in ethology and animal nutrition, UniLaSalle. At theconversation.com. The story begins with mentioning that veterinary care now “is in great shape”. Cats live and average age of 11 years, personally I have found with friends pets it may be as “old’ at 17, some begin to age at 10. It also says that there are things we can do for our cat and dog pets as comfortable as they progress in aging. It just takes being aware of your pets living changes as they grow older. In small dogs aging can begin at 7, medium to large sized at the age of 6. The art says not to panic, it doesn’t mean “the end is near”, just begin paying attention. When looking at their aging process we need to take in mind cells grow and damage, environmental stress and physiological changes take place. Watch to see that they have been and are at the moment healthy. All of that while still “maintaining” normal relationship with their owners. Visible signs of aging for our pets are grey hair, more tartar on the teeth, a little less capability of their senses. Heavier signs of aging are mobility and possible interactions with other animals and humans, there may also be signs of “cognitive dysfunction”. Then is time to be more aware of quality of life. Early detection with a veterinaries advise is most likely necessary. Attention to steps for them to use to get on furniture they are allowed, raised bowls may be necessary, some need attention to osteoarthritis. We as humans in their lives need to be “calm and positive” with them. As they age they may become more anxious and need understanding rather than punishment. Appropriate exercise for their age and condition may help along with diet changes, something more easily digestible food not containing raw meat. Sometimes dry food mixed with wet is more appetizing to some. Sometimes just warming the food may help, that’s what I did for Sweet Pea in her finals days. They may need more protection to diseases. The article ended by relating that “above all, prolong their health”. After reading this article I feel better, I did all of that and more for Sweet Pea and plan to do the same for any more heaven may allow me to partner with.
I am going to try making poached chicken with dumplings for dinner.

Next is a challenge called “a sunny winter scene”. We didn’t have any good clean snow or ice icicle now so this is from my abundant archives of earlier shots and possible for future assignments like now.
keep in the corner of the living room for young visitors.
