June 30, 2023, a thought for today, Forgiveness is a pillar of justice. Russian Proverb

The first upload yesterday was called “stack of books”. These are some of the books that we have available for our visitors to our food pantry.

This is another rather quiet Friday. Sweet Pea had a little relapse on the digestive situation which caused a bit more work. However, Sue came up with a way to make one of the clean up areas a bit quicker. We have a squeeze squirt bottle to clean up Sweet Pea’s back side, surprisingly it is making it much easier. Bob is till in the hospital working on getting things stabilized. Sue is baby sitting with the twins. So here I am....me and my shadow (and Sweet Pea).

My second upload for yesterday was another of the “my choice” images. This is one of my neighbors as they prepared for the Halloween season a couple of years ago.

I decided with the quiet all around me and not much other on the agenda I would start on next years family calendar. That project started out years ago with photos I took through the year of family members. The family has grown and living in different places so those style photos (taken by me) are far and few between now. So the calendar this year will be some of my favorite photo-of-the-day images. I am going to change the format from landscape to portrait since most of my shots this year have been at that angle.

Also on my relaxed Friday agenda I will fill my Google calendar with the daily photo assignment titles. And generate my portfolio pages for this past month of daily photos.

My first entry of the last day of June is “a building with interesting windows”. There are a lot of windows in this image. So we have our choice as to which building’s are the most interesting

The word for today is talk. A man is seldom better than his conversation, German Proverb.  Conversation should be pleasant without scurrility, witty without affectation, free without indecency, learned without conceitedness, novel without falsehood, William Shakespeare.  When the eyes say one thing and the tongue another, a practiced man relies on the language of the first, Ralph Waldo Emerson. The great gift of conversation lies less in displaying it ourselves than in drawing it out of others. He who leaves your company pleased with himself and his own cleverness is perfectly well pleased with you, Jean de La Bruyère.  Never close your lips to those to whom you have opened your heart, Charles Dickens.  He is an eloquent man who can treat humble subjects with delicacy, lofty things impressively, and moderate things temperately, Cicero. No mortal has a right to wag his tongue, much less to wag his pen, without saying something, Thomas Carlyle.  The most valuable of talents is that of never using two words when one will do, Thomas Jefferson.  Those who have few affairs to attend to are great talkers. The less men think, the more they talk, Montesquieu. Conversation is the image of the mind. As the man is, so is his talk, Publilius Syrus.  Thinking: the talking of the soul with itself, Plato.  'The time has come,' the walrus said, 'to talk of many things: of shoes and ships - and sealing wax - of cabbages and kings.' Lewis Carroll.  Know how to listen, and you will profit even from those who talk badly. Plutarch.  Tis the privilege of friendship to talk nonsense, and have her nonsense respected. Charles Lamb.

The second upload for this last day of June is another of the “my choice”. This was taken at the pond in the park near my home....a gentleman and his lady.

This article is interesting. I am not much of a shopper. So I don’t visit shopping malls often. I have done a sort of walk through at Easton some time ago and was interested in the surroundings. When I saw this article I decided to learn a little more about Easton and share it. This is the 24th anniversary of the opening of Easton. Since its opening, in 1999, it has attracted about 30 million visitors and have “won several awards”. It was designed with unique retail, dining and entertainment experiences in mind with a “nostalgic small-town feel”.  There is a thirty screen movie theater, several hotels and an apartment complex making up the entire shopping area. At the opening an since well known persons have visit the mall, Sylvester Stallone, Shaquille O’Neal, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Arnold, Kelsey Grammar, James Caan and Luke Perry. One feature that is noted is that Coumbus’first Starbucks came with Easton. There are 300 storefronts, of those, 37 are the only location in Ohio. Easton has a helping hands project called Change for Charity which allows them to donate to local community organizations. One was a $150,000 donation for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Association of Greater Columbus. Another was Adventures for Wish Kids for children. Along with the success there was some downers with some of the stores closing after a few years. Easton also hosts summer concerts. In total, it is a unique area of our city.

It’s pizza night again.
