July 4, 2023 a thought for today, Only chained bears dance. Russian  Proverb

One of the uploads for yesterday was “k is for....” key....this is my life time membership key to Weight Watchers. The back ground is one of my digitally generated images.

We are all a little disappointed....Bob is still not ready to be discharged from the hospital. They are going to run another CT scan today. At some point I hope we get a clear and complete diagnosis/prognosis.

This is one of those days that are not so busy. I am doing a lot of research on personal interests such as turning some of my house plants to a hydroponic method. As I age, taking care of my house plant “garden” becomes increasingly more difficult. I don’t want to completely get rid of the plants but I would be reducing the size of them and approaching seemingless maintenance. I think I will give it a try before doing a head count to consider which ones to give away.

The second upload for July 3 was “my choice”. This is a decorative plant stand that is stored away in my garage somewhere.

The Red, White and Boom in Columbus seemed to have gone off yesterday pretty well despite the weather although I heard the crowd was a little smaller than in past years. The news showed people setting up spaces early in the day when it was pouring down rain.

Today the weather is much lighter....more sun than grey clouds.

The first upload for today is “n is for....”. I chose this bag of “new” potatoes for my entry. I used another of my digitally generated images as a background.

The word for today is truth. Many persons have patience in affliction, who have little or none in the pursuit of truth, William Benton Clulow. It is alike your interest and mine and all men's, however long we have dwelt in lies, to live in truth, Ralph Waldo Emerson. Truth crushed to earth shall rise again...William Cullen Bryant. Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth, Henry David Thoreau. Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth, Marcus Aurelius. Craft must have clothes, but truth loves to go naked, Thomas Fuller. Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains to bring it to light. George Washington. The man who fears no truth has nothing to fear from lies, Thomas Jefferson. Truth never hurts the teller, Robert Browning. Tell the truth and shame the devil, Francois Rabelais. There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true, Soren Kierkegaard. Seek not greatness, but seek truth and you will find both, Horace Mann.  The soul, fortunately, has an interpreter - often an unconscious, but still a truthful interpreter - in the eye. Charlotte Bronte. The tyrant dies and his rule is over, the martyr dies and his rule begins, Soren Kierkegaard.

The second upload today is “my choice”. This is a pattern on one of my “dressier” dressers. It is not a stem of fresh flowers.

This seems unique to me. Maybe an up and coming thing. This article is about a new apartment complex being build behind walls covered in murals. As I understand it, the fully and completely painted and decorated outer walls will remain standing as structures behind them will be torn down to allow new buildings to be constructed. There will be two three-story-24 unit apartment buildings along with a swimming pool and community center. In total there are four buildings considered in the process. Two are historic brick structures, with the murals, that will remain. The other two will be partially demolished leaving only the outer walls that have more graffiti murals.  This area of town has been in the process of revitalizing since about 2013. The land in the area has been considered to be“remediated after the demolition of the Columbus Coated Fabric plant in 2007.” In the planning of the new buildings it was “already established that the murals and all that stay no matter what, so we’ve put in a significant amount of money [into preserving them].” It was a financial process too to save the murals. The walls had to be braced with steel supports while construction progressed. It is hoped that the new apartments will be completed by 2024.

I haven’t decided whether I am making beef stew or pulling something from the freezer for dinner tonight.

Joy
